#10 - Helping Kids through NALAG NSW

#010 - Have you ever experienced a death in the family? Have you ever lost your job? Have you ever experienced a loss such as separation or divorce? Chances are, it's a big fat YES! Can you imagine then what it would be like for a child to go through these experiences without the skills to cope? In this episode I talk to Trudy Hanson, the soon to be retired CEO of NALAG (National Association for Loss and Grief) in Dubbo, NSW. We discuss how children, who are often the 'forgotten mourners', cope with grief quite differently to adults. We also talk about in this sombre, but very real topic, how as teachers what we can do to help these kids build coping skills and see that there is hope on the other side!
